SCHOOL PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS
Project STREAM (Simplified Teacher Resource Entry, Archiving, and Management) is a localized, school-based digital solution to centralize document submission, archiving, and access through the use of cloud storage and a dedicated school website. This project not only promotes a more organized and accessible documentation process but also aligns with the goals of sustainable education, bridging the gap between traditional practices and modern digital needs. By reducing paper dependency and improving access to vital information, Project STREAM aims to empower teachers and enhance overall school efficiency.
Project Tabang Kabataan is an annual end-of-school-year Community Outreach Program initiated by the different student organizations of Leandro G. Japos National High School. It began on year 2022 amidst the pandemic to aid learners who were less fortunate and provide them with school supplies, food packs, toys, hygiene kits, among other donated by the students and the varied community partners and stakeholders. Today, PTK has become a district-wide initiative, adapted by the District of Banaybanay but is still organized by the student-leaders of the institution.
In response to third goal of the MATATAG agenda of taking good care of learners’ well-being, the Leandro G. Japos National High School of the Banaybanay District strengthened its reading implementation through the Project HERO, which stands for Helping Every Reader be Optimum in reading, a program that aims to address the prevalent problem on students’ reading competence by seeing the problem through a holistic viewpoint.
Christmas is no doubt the most awaited season of the year as it signifies the start of the season of giving. In line with this, the Supreme Student Government, with its mandate to provide opportunities for young leaders to be advocacy-driven, organized PASKOMUNIDAD: a community gift-giving drive addressed to the young kids of the community around Leandro G. Japos National High School.
The important role of leadership in nation building had long been acknowledged by the Department of Education through the Supreme Student Government and the development of myriad school-based organization such as the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization, Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD), School Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (SDRRMC) and We Advocate Time Consciousness and Honesty (WATCH) Club; all of which are bounded to the same goal: to develop future leaders with knowledge, skills and values.
