Leandro G. Japos National High School highlights Paskomunidad in celebration of DepEd's 12 Days of Christmas
Marking the 10th day of the Department of Education's 12 Days of Christmas program, Leandro G. Japos National High School in Banaybanay District exhibited the spirit of giving through the Paskomunidad Year 2: a community gift-giving drive which was held on December 15, 2023 at Causwagan Elementary School.
The activity was spearheaded by the school's faculty and staff through the collaborative effort of the different student-organizations of the school, namely: the Supreme Secondary Learners Government (SSLG), Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), Project We Advocate Time Consciousness and Honesty (WATCH), Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD), and the Senior Scouts.
The event was also participated by the different community partners such as the Sangguniang Kabataan and Barangay Local Government Units of Causwagan and Piso alongside the students of Causwagan Elementary School.
Mrs. Annalyn Pugosa, the school administrator of the recipient school, expressed her heartfelt thanks to the organizers, emphasizing the positive impact of the event to the children.
"You have made a lot of children happy today, and for that, I am really grateful," she shared during her speech, highlighting the significance of the event.
The Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay (RPSB), led by PSSg Herbert S. Lealde, also joined the program, organizing a concurrent feeding program to further contribute to the celebration.
In addition, gracing the event was the school's stakeholder and at the same time, Municipal Councilor of Banaybanay Kenneth E. Tagaro who played the role of Santa Claus and sponsored the gifts for the students.
"Despite the crisis we are facing now, from natural disasters like the recent earthquakes and others, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas and that is to be thankful, to be forgiving and of course, to be giving," he stated during his message.
Over 140 students were given gifts during the event, including teachers and parents.
