Regional Office Staff Development 2024: ALOHA Summer Extravaganza
On May 30-31, 2024, the Regional Office conducted its annual Staff Development program through the Human Resources Development Division (HRDD), spearheaded by Regional Director Jocelyn DR Andaya. The event, held at Club Balai Isabel in Talisay, Batangas, aimed to enhance the productivity and efficiency of Regional Office Proper (ROP) personnel through a blend of indoor and outdoor activities.
The first day featured activities designed to boost teamwork, problem-solving, motor skills, and decision-making capabilities among the staff. The day's events culminated in a lively social night, where each Functional Division (FD) presented performances aligned with the theme "ALOHA Summer Extravaganza," fostering a spirit of fun and unity.
Day two of the program featured a keynote session with Director Hans R. Alcantara from the Civil Service Commission, who delivered an insightful discussion on conflict management for government employees. The session provided valuable strategies such as understanding personality styles at work, understanding workforce diversity and inclusion, and grievance mechanisms to effectively manage workplace conflicts. The event concluded with an awarding ceremony recognizing the teams and individuals that demonstrated exceptional effort and creativity in both the playshop activities and themed presentations. Team accountability composed of the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD) & General Services Unit (GSU) was hailed as the playshop champion, while the Administrative Services Division (ASD) and Field Technical Assistance Division (FTAD) bagged the championship for the MATATAG presentation.
This comprehensive development initiative not only aimed to enhance the professional skills of ROP personnel but also to strengthen interpersonal relationships and foster a more collaborative and harmonious work environment.
