Welcome to the CHS Senior High School Program!
Senior High School, the last two years of the K to 12 Curriculum implemented by the Department of Education since 2012 offer subjects introduces students to their preferred career path. The curriculum allows students to choose between three tracks which are the Academic, Technical-Vocational-Livelihood, and the Sports and Arts strand. It will also give students the opportunities to undergo immersions, have relevant exposure to a variety of industries, and to have experience activities in their chosen track. Each track will give the students enough time to master a field and enhance their skills in that respective career they choose.
What are the advantages of completing Senior High School?
Completing Senior High School provides sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for four curriculum exits such as employment, entrepreneurship, middle level skills, and tertiary education. For those who would pursue college, general subjects in the Senior High School will prepare them to the course/s of their interest. For those who opted to study under the Technical-Vocational Track, they will be ready to apply for TESDA Certificates and the National Certificate passed by the students will give them the opportunity to be employed, experience entrepreneurship, or a part-time job while pursuing tertiary education.
SHS graduates that have experienced the real world of work in their immersion will have the advantage as soft and hard skills are developed or enhanced which companies and industries look for in hiring employees. Some companies or partner industries hire the best performing immersion students. Hotels, restaurants, event organizers and the likes accept SHS part-timers for their businesses. Computer and electronic shops, Engineering and technical department or even human resource area of business and industry establishments found potentials in their trainees and amateurs. Young entrepreneurs also flock on online selling, food processing, preservation, and in food vending. Entrepreneurship, Practical Research, Specialized subjects and their Core subjects have taught them lifelong learning skills that they will later use in budgeting, selling, marketing, in encouraging and sustaining the trust of clients and customers, and on human relations. Culminating activities, career caravan, return demo, managing a laboratory canteen, and immersion were some of the Senior High School activities that enrich lifelong learning.
