Assistive Technology Specialist
Michelle Ibarra, MA, CCC-SLP
mibarra@dcsdk12.org
Michelle has been a pediatric speech-language pathologist for 23 years, working in a variety of settings. She attended the University of South Dakota for her bachelors and masters degrees. She then moved to the Phoenix, Arizona area and worked in the schools, early intervention, hospital, and outpatient therapy settings. She became a deaf-hard of hearing and cochlear implant specialist there. After a move to the Denver area, she continued her work with the DHH and CI populations, as well as early intervention and outpatient therapy work at Children’s Hospital Colorado. She joined Douglas County School District in 2019 and was a preschool SLP for five years. It was there that she developed more skills in the assistive technology area. Learning from DCSD SWAAAC team members has been a privilege and she is so excited to share these skills with other staff members and students. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys being a “baseball mom”, hiking, and yoga.
