I am originally from Wisconsin and moved to Colorado in 2000. I received my undergraduate and master's degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I always knew I wanted to work in education and came across Speech Language Pathology in college. I quickly gravitated toward AAC in graduate school when I became a graduate assistant for our Assistive Technology Professor. He was passionate about Morse Code and even wrote a book on its use with AT. I fell in love with Assistive Technology from the start and continued to attend conferences and trainings out of college. I have worked within early intervention, home health, clinics, Child Find, and schools within the Denver metro area and the mountains. I began training to help with AT when I lived in the mountains to help families access within the birth to three settings and continued my education with the state by attending an assistive technology program at the Center for Inclusive Design for Engineering. I love working with all children from those that may not be understood to complex communication needs. I always hope that each child can be validated when they attempt to communicate in any way. I am so excited to learn, grow, and share the world of Assistive Technology with my teams. In my free time, our family loves to spend time with our fluffy sheepadoodles, hike, camp, bike, raft, and go on adventures.
