Just like every good wine has a flavor profile that lends itself to that perfect cheese, every book of fiction is just waiting to partner with a non-fiction book that deepens the reader's understanding of the IRL events on which fiction was based.
This year’s Carpe Librum theme asks you to recommend book pairings that complement each other. For example, a fictional book covering one character’s journey as a nurse in Vietnam War (The Women by Kristin Hannah) would pair well with the true account of women who banded together to bring their husbands home from the Vietnam War (The League of Wives: The Untold Story of the Women Who Took on the U.S. Government to Bring their Husbands Home by Heath Hardage Lee).
