I read this book during a "School Change" course with prof Thomas Hatch (Co-Director, National Center for Restructuring Education, Schools, & Teaching (NCREST). This book explores the history of the origins and reform in school systems (public & private) in the US. It talks about the circumstances and forces that allow change to happen within a huge system. It shed light on how little our systems have changed in the past 100 years, why that is, and how important it is to change not just the curriculum, but the infrastructure underlying it.
