We envision mathematics classrooms where every student develops deep conceptual understanding through consistent use of the Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA) model, leading to procedural and fact fluency. Instruction will be engaging and focused on supporting students as mathematicians who can participate in mathematical discussions with teachers and peers, gain confidence in their mathematical abilities, and feel successful in mathematics.
Our purpose is to help every student feel successful and capable in math, developing the confidence, stamina, and willingness to engage in increasingly complex mathematical thinking.
By the end of the 2027–2028 school year, 80% of Davie County Schools students in grades K-12 will demonstrate proficiency on state and national assessments.
Short-Term Team Goal
All students will recall whole number facts automatically by the end of 4th grade.
