NCEES is the official Home Base application used by Davie County Schools for storing and managing educator effectiveness. NCEES offers components designed to support the ongoing professional growth of K-12 educational leaders and teachers. This tool includes an educator evaluation component and a professional development component
North Carolina Standard Professional 2 licenses must be renewed every five years with 8 units (80 hours) of renewal credit. One hour is equivalent to .1 CEU. Please be sure you know where you are in your renewal cycle and plan in advance, how you will obtain your renewal credits. All employees can access their current CEU's through timekeeper or by contacting Kelly Kluttz at kluttzk@davie.k12.nc.us.

You can sign into timekeeper to check your renewal credits by looking under Employee Profile - CEUs. Please note, that your CEU totals will be available at the end of each school year.
Professional development activities will be submitted using the DCS Professional Development CEU Form. Staff will use this form for any renewal credits in which no certificate was awarded. Credits in academic subject areas, including strategies to teach those subjects, during each five-year renewal cycle.
Literacy renewal credits which shall include evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and intervention strategies for students not demonstrating reading proficiency. *Oral language, phonemic and phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension shall be addressed in literacy-related activities leading to license renewal for elementary school license renewal.
Any credits approved by our local school system. These may be credits that do not fit into one of the other categories, OR “overage” in other categories may be classified as “general” to meet the required total of 8 credits in the 5 year renewal cycle.
Credits that align with the expectations of the NC School Executive Standards 2, 4, and 5 (focused on the school executive’s role as Instructional, Human Resources, and Managerial Leader).
Before making an appointment with Human Resources to discuss your retirement, you will need to do your retirement research. The research process should start 1-3 years before you retire.
Once you have your retirement research completed and you are ready to retire, you will need to make an appointment with Abby White in the Davie County Schools' Human Resources Department (whiteab@davie.k12.nc.us) 120 days (4 months) prior to the date you are planning to retire.
