The Woods 2 class contribute their Design Process and Woodworking skills to create projects for the local community. Students work collaboratively to accomplish a given task, given by the teacher, derived from a need they see, or even asked from the local community.
Open to Anyone taking a Wooding 2
Students used design developed by Mrs. O'Connor to manufacture 56 Firetrucks in 3 days to be donated to 3 different Shelters; 2 located in Norwalk, 1 located in Stamford.
Students were so interesting in the project that not only did the Woods 2 class partake in the build but other students who had the skills stopped by too eager to help and bring joy to kids during the Holiday Season
Students in Mr. Reynolds class helped design and create a seating area for an Tokeneke Elementary School. The seating area was created so that a teacher can take kids outside to enjoy a lesson.
Project was designed by the Woods 2 students, Built by the Woods 2 students, installed by the facilities department, paid by the parents association. This was truly one of the best community service projects where the community was also involved.
