Dear Prestonwood Montessori Families,

We wrapped up a wonderfully successful Loved Ones Week! Thank you to all the families and friends who joined us and helped make it such a special time for our students.

Now it’s time to enjoy our well-deserved 1-week break. Let’s all take this time to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with loved ones.

Don’t forget to check out our extra activities and optional learning fun for the break! We hope they help keep students engaged while still enjoying their time off.

Week in Review

Workplans in the classroom

We’ve recently made a strong campus-wide push to tighten our work plan systems. Work plans help students learn to plan, organize, and reflect during the work cycle.

What this looks like:

Students use their work plan to choose work, stay focused, and check off tasks as they finish.
Teachers use symbols to track progress. The most common is the triangle:
- 1 line = lesson received
- 2 lines = working on it
- Closed triangle = completed

Work plans may look different in each classroom, but the purpose is consistent: building independence.

**Ask your child about their work plan—**it’s a great window into their day!
