On May 16, 2025, the second and final session of the “TechSHOW: Building Engaging and Impactful Presentations” training program was successfully conducted at Cavite State University (CvSU) – Carmona Campus. Organized by the Extension Services Office and the Department of Industrial and Information Technology (DIIT) as part of the CvSUCCESS TO-SERVE Project, this session further strengthened participants’ abilities to create compelling digital presentations by introducing advanced features and interactive elements.
The day-long workshop, which ran from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, built upon the foundational skills taught in the first session and shifted focus toward enhancing slide content through animation, transitions, and effective slideshow management. The session was spearheaded by Mr. John Benneth C. Abuan, faculty extensionist of DIIT, who brought practical expertise and an engaging teaching style to the session.
Mr. Abuan’s technical lecture was organized into three primary segments. He began by demonstrating how to apply smooth and professional transitions between slides to improve presentation flow. Next, he introduced animation techniques that bring text, images, and other objects to life—covering entrance and exit effects, emphasis animations, and motion paths. Finally, he guided the participants through the setup and control of slide shows, teaching them how to configure timings, use navigation tools, and ensure seamless delivery.
To reinforce these skills, the session incorporated a strong hands-on component, encouraging participants to experiment with animation sequences, timing controls, and slide navigation tools in real-time. This interactive approach allowed learners to practice integrating design creativity with content clarity and professionalism—key aspects of delivering impactful presentations.
As with the first session, a post-assessment was conducted to evaluate participants' grasp of the concepts and tools discussed. Several participants confidently showcased their work, applying their newly learned techniques to produce animated, interactive presentation outputs that demonstrated significant progress in both design and functionality.
The event concluded with closing remarks from the organizers and facilitators, who lauded the participants’ enthusiasm and growth throughout the two-day training. Certificates were awarded, acknowledging their commitment to improving their digital literacy and communication skills.
Special recognition is given to the faculty extensionists whose behind-the-scenes efforts greatly contributed to the success of this initiative. These include Mr. Alonel A. Hugo, Mr. Nathanael F.
