TO-SERVE (Technical Opportunities to Support, EmpoweR, and Value the Community) Project mainly aims to equip unemployed individuals with competency, skill, or knowledge in basic computer operations and servicing to ensure their employment or the establishment of their micro-enterprise.

On December 6, 2024, Cavite State University (CvSU) – Carmona Campus’ Extension Services Office and the Department of Industrial and Information Technology, in partnership with the City Government of Carmona, successfully conducted TechNAV: Mastering Your Digital Operating System. This hands-on training, held at CvSU-Carmona, as part of the CvSUCCESS TO-SERVE (Technical Opportunities to Support, Empower, and Value the Community) Project, designed to enhance digital literacy among participants.
The program focused on foundational concepts of operating systems, emphasizing their functions, booting and shutdown processes, Windows navigation, and file management skills. Attendees gained essential knowledge aimed at empowering them to use digital tools effectively in education, work, and daily life.
The training began with a motivating message from Prof. Jonell V. Ocampo, TO-SERVE project staff member, who underscored the importance of digital skills in unlocking opportunities.
Prof. Joe Marlou A. Opella, project staff member, led the training sessions, delivering expert insights into operating systems and their integral role in managing resources. Participants were introduced to proper system handling techniques to ensure stability and security. Sessions also covered Windows navigation, menu customization, and leveraging built-in tools for productivity, culminating in practical tips for organizing and safeguarding files.
The training featured interactive Q&A sessions and assessments, allowing participants to solidify their understanding through hands-on exercises.
The day ended with the awarding of certificates and an inspiring closing message from Mr. Jhumel C. Ignas, TO-SERVE project leader. He expressed heartfelt thanks to the organizing team, speakers, and participants, urging everyone to use their new skills to achieve personal and professional growth.
This initiative’s success was driven by the collaborative efforts of CvSU-Carmona’s faculty extensionists, including Mr. Ignas, Prof. Opella, Prof. Ocampo, Asst. Prof. Rochelle C. Malabayabas, Dr. Regene G. Hernandez, Mr. Alonel A. Hugo, Ms. Janine B. Bacosmo, Dr. Mark Anthony R. Abril, Mr. Daryl Lyndon T. Supan, Ms. Arnielyn Joy M. Samonte, Mr. Robert Andrews C. Marquez, and Mr. Francis C. Callos. Their dedication, under the leadership of campus administrator, Dr. Cristina M. Signo, ensured a seamless and impactful program.
TechNAV reflects CvSU-Carmona’s steadfast commitment to bridging the digital divide, equipping underserved communities with the skills needed to thrive in today’s digital landscape.
