RECENT ACTIVITES
09/05 & 12/2025
The Extension Services Office and the Department of Industrial and Information Technology (DIIT) of Cavite State University – Carmona Campus successfully conducted the training titled “TechDraft: Enhancing Digital Drafting Skills through Technical CAD Training” on September 5 and 12, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, as part of the CvSUCCESS’ TO-SERVE Project. The two-day activity centered on practical and hands-on learning, aiming to equip participants with foundational knowledge and skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), specifically using AutoCAD, an essential tool in technical drawing and digital drafting across industries such as engineering, construction, and architecture.
On the first day, participants were welcomed by Mr. Jhumel C. Ignas, project leader of TO-SERVE and extension coordinator of DIIT, followed by a pre-assessment and introductory discussions on CAD and technical drafting. Dr. Mark Anthony R. Abril, faculty extensionist, facilitated the sessions on AutoCAD interface and navigation, basic drawing concepts, drawing and modify tools, as well as plotting and saving. The day concluded with a post-assessment, awarding of certificates, and closing remarks delivered by Dr. Regene G. Hernandez, chairperson of the DIIT.
The second day highlighted more advanced CAD applications handled by Dr. Jonell V. Ocampo, faculty extensionist, who discussed modifying commands, object snaps, selection sets, and selection options. Participants also engaged in Q&A sessions, a post-assessment, and the presentation of selected outputs showcasing their newly acquired skills. The program was formally closed by Mr. Ignas, followed by the awarding of certificates and a photo session.
The success of this second session was made possible through the collaborative support of DIIT faculty extensionists and student volunteers, including Mr. James Vincent Ronquillo, Mr. Joshua Gracia, Ms. Precious Donita Roallos, Ms. Vanessa Joy Villapaz, Asst. Prof. Joe Marlou A. Opella, Mr. John Benneth C. Abuan, Assoc. Prof. Rochelle Malabayabas, and Ms. Janine B. Bacosmo.
