Cavite State University – Carmona Campus, through the Extension Services Office and the Department of Management, in partnership with e-Management Circle and the Junior Marketing Association, successfully conducted the seminar “Price It Right: Simple Strategies to Earn and Grow Inclusive Enterprises” on December 13, 2025, as part of its continuing commitment to promote financial literacy, inclusive entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihood development among aspiring entrepreneurs.
The program formally opened with welcome remarks delivered by Dr. Michael G. Consignado, chairperson, who emphasized the critical role of proper pricing in enterprise sustainability. He highlighted that pricing is not merely a financial decision but a strategic tool that directly affects market competitiveness, profitability, and long-term growth, particularly for inclusive and small-scale enterprises.
To assess participants’ baseline understanding, a pre-assessment was administered through Google Forms. The learning sessions then commenced with Understanding Pricing Basics and Product Value, facilitated by Asst. Prof. Melody N. Plaza, faculty extensionist. The session introduced fundamental pricing concepts, including value perception, market considerations, and the relationship between cost and price. This was followed by Breaking Down Pricing Components, also led by Asst. Prof. Plaza, which focused on identifying and allocating direct, indirect, and overhead costs as essential inputs in pricing decisions.
After a health break, the seminar continued with Guided Pricing Exercises, facilitated by Mr. Antonino Jose L. Bayson, department extension coordinator. During this interactive session, participants actively applied pricing principles to sample enterprise scenarios, enabling them to compute prices, analyze margins, and understand the impact of pricing strategies on profitability. An open forum and reflection activity followed, allowing participants to raise questions, clarify concepts, and share insights based on their learning experiences.
Additionally, the program featured Research/EDP-Based Presentation on NutriSip Enterprise, presented by Mr. Bayson. The session demonstrated how research-based enterprise development planning informs effective pricing strategies. Through the NutriSip Enterprise case, participants were able to see how accurate cost computation, market positioning, and value-based pricing contribute to enterprise viability and sustainability.
Further enriching the discussion was Pricing for Livelihood Ideas, delivered by Ms. Rovianca Hernandez, CvSU alumna and BSBA Marketing Management graduate. She shared practical experiences and insights on pricing food-based livelihood products, such as luncheon food enterprises and vegetarian crackers. Her presentation bridged academic concepts and real-world applications, emphasizing practical considerations in pricing for small and emerging enterprises.
The seminar concluded with a post-assessment to measure learning gains, followed by a sharing and feedback session, where participants expressed their reflections and key takeaways. The awarding of certificates and acknowledgment of participants recognized the active participation and contributions of the speakers, organizers, and attendees.
The activity officially ended with closing remarks delivered by Dr. Maria Andrea C. Francia, department research coordinator, who highlighted the importance of integrating pricing knowledge into research, extension, and entrepreneurial initiatives. The program concluded with the singing of the CvSU Hymn.
