Cavite State University (CvSU) – Carmona Campus transformed into a hub of innovation and creativity as the Extension Services Office and Department of Management hosted “Innovation Spark: Driving Product Development with Creative Brilliance” on May 16, 2025, Room 108, as part of the CvSUCCESS’ Project KPKNan. The one-day seminar gathered community members for a knowledge-packed event dedicated to the exploration of modern strategies in product development.
The event opened with a solemn moment of unity through prayer and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, the Cavite Hymn, and the Carmona Hymn. It was followed by the opening remarks delivered by Ms. Janine Bacosmo, campus extension services coordinator, who warmly welcomed the participants and set the tone for the day’s exciting sessions.
The first keynote presentation was led by Mr. Harold M. Magallanes, faculty extensionist, who shared valuable insights on "Building a Product Development Pipeline: From Concept to Prototype." His session underscored the importance of a structured approach in transforming innovative ideas into tangible prototypes, bridging creativity with practical execution.
A dynamic question and answer session followed, giving the audience a chance to engage directly with Mr. Magallanes and clarify key concepts from his talk.
The momentum continued with another powerful session by Ms. Dianalyn Castillo, faculty extensionist, who tackled the topic "Customer-Centric Product Development: Using Data and Feedback to Drive Innovation." Her presentation emphasized the role of data-driven decision-making and customer feedback in designing products that truly meet user needs.
After a refreshing lunch break, the program resumed with a compelling joint presentation by Dr. Gretchen Macaranas and Ms. Evelyn O. Papa, faculty extensionists, who discussed "Sustainable Product Innovation." Their talk highlighted the significance of sustainability in modern product development, urging innovators to adopt environmentally conscious practices and forward-thinking designs.
Another interactive question and answer session followed, further enriching the learning experience for all attendees.
In the afternoon, participants enjoyed a brief health break before moving into the testimonial segment, where attendees shared their experiences, learnings, and appreciation for the event. The heartfelt testimonials reflected the positive impact of the seminar on the professional growth of the participants.
The awarding of certificates honored the speakers and contributors, recognizing their valuable input and dedication. The event concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Michael G. Consignado, chairperson of the Department of Management, who commended the collaborative spirit and encouraged continued innovation among faculty and students alike.
The CvSU Hymn was sung to close the program on a unifying note. Throughout the day, Ms. Darrlen Joy M. Fernandez served as the moderator, ensuring a smooth and engaging flow of activities.
