With a steadfast mission to uplift inclusive livelihood initiatives, the Extension Services Office and Department of Hospitality Management, in partnership with the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of Carmona City, continued its series of specialized trainings for the PDOCCI Fresh Tofu Production team.
Held on April 2, 2025, the third session of the “Empowering Inclusive Enterprises: Quality Assurance Training for the Establishment of a Quality Unit” reaffirmed the University's dedication to fostering community-based enterprises through practical knowledge sharing and hands-on learning experiences.
Led by Dr. Joan L. Fortuna and Mr. Klenton R. Torrevillas—recognized experts in food safety and quality—the third session focused on critical components of operational excellence. The topics covered included loose item monitoring, cross-contamination control, proper attire and hygiene practices, and emergency preparedness. These topics aim to instill discipline, standardize processes, and ensure the safety and quality of tofu products handled by the PWD workforce.
Participants were actively engaged in the session, demonstrating their growing confidence and competence in applying industry-standard practices. The activity reflects CvSU Carmona’s steadfast commitment to empowering communities by merging academic expertise with socially responsive programs.
With sessions scheduled to continue weekly, the training series is steadily building a robust foundation for sustainable, high-quality tofu production.
