RECENT ACTIVITES
03/12 & 25/2025
The Extension Services Office and the Department of Hospitality Management of Cavite State University – Carmona Campus proudly launched a new initiative to support inclusive entrepreneurship. The activity, titled “Empowering Inclusive Enterprises: Quality Assurance Training for the Establishment of a Quality Unit in PDOCCI Fresh Tofu Production,” is being conducted from March 12 to October 1, 2025, at the Person with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), Carmona City, Cavite.
This initiative aligns with CvSUCCESS’ Project KPKNan (Kaagapay sa Pag-unlad para sa Kapakanan ng PWDs) and aims to equip participants with essential knowledge in food safety and quality assurance. By ensuring compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements, the program strengthens the capacity of the Persons with Disabilities Organization of Carmona Cavite, Inc. (PDOCCI) in producing high-quality and safe tofu products.
Led by Dr. Joan L. Fortuna and Mr. Klenton R. Torrevillas, experts in food quality and safety, the sessions held on March 12 and 25, 2025, successfully provided participants with in-depth knowledge on quality control practices. The first session focused on receiving raw materials and quality control for in-process and finished goods, while the second addressed waste management, rejects handling, and internal audit procedures. These foundational trainings have strengthened PDOCCI’s tofu production standards, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and best practices.
The succeeding training sessions will be conducted almost every Wednesday of the week, providing continuous learning opportunities and reinforcing the knowledge needed to maintain high-quality tofu production standards.
