War of 1812 Assessment

Directions: Write a paragraph explaining your answer to ONE of the following questions:

1. Do you agree or disagree with Madison’s decision to go to war with Great Britain in 1812? Explain your reasoning with clear and specific evidence.

2. Some have called this war the “Second War for Independence.”  Do you agree with this title?  Explain your reasoning with details from the war, including the causes.

3. Describe the impact of Tecumseh’s story and what people can learn from him today.
