HW:  Complete  graphic organizer & write short paragraph

Second half of the period:  Debate Preparation

• Prepare for debate:  create note cards with arguments for or against Jefferson's decisions/actions on each issue (ONE point per card)

• Conduct outside research for additional information on issues, if needed

Day 4 (Friday, 1/30)

1. In class debate:

   • Budget (debt, cuts, taxes, tariffs, etc.)

   • Louisiana Purchase & Lewis and Clark Expedition

   • Trade and Foreign Relations (Tripoli, Britain, & France)

2. Post debate wrap-up:  make a T-Chart of your group members' arguments on notebook paper

3. Paragraph evaluation:  All work is due  by the end of the class period
