What is a RIT Score?
Your RIT score is like a ruler for your learning. It measures how ready you are to learn new things, not just what grade you’re in. It measures what skills you are working on right now.
What Does My RIT Score Mean?
It is a tool used to help you (and the adults in your life) see if you’re growing as a reader.

But, is my score good?
If you feel you must have a number equivalent, most 8th graders are between a 210-230 - if you are higher, you are slightly more advanced, lower means you are still learning and can grow more.
What if I scored above or below 210-230?
GROWTH is more important than any single number. We will take this assessment again this year. Your goal is to see growth! It might be tempting to compare your score with another student, but that’s not helping you.
