In large groups, review and comment observations on your region's images in class slideshow. Locate and agree upon a map to add to illustrate the economic products for your region (slide before image bank for each region).
In small groups, read the text page for your colony and complete the graphic organizer together. Add details and images for each "spoke" of the graphic organizer, and be sure to place your initials after your contributions. (See sample on slide 40)
Independent Work: Review the other colony slides and analyze common threads within each region. Complete the analysis page on your handout
Discuss the one of the assigned characters in groups:
Why did this individual come to the colonies?
What were the achievements/struggles of this individual?
What did this individual reveal about life in the colonies?
Independent work: Choose TWO of the individuals from 60-63 to compare/contrast. You should add two or more slides at the END of your copy of the slide presentation. Your slides should be organized, visually appealing, include an image and address the questions below:
Analyze:
What do these characters have in common? How are their experiences different?
How do they each portray different elements of the colonies?
