Dedicated to Peigí Ní Chlochartaigh Boston/Loch Con Aortha
Today they were blue
Light blue at the break of day
In the hue
Of Spring's early sun
With ghostly grey
From their foothills spun
splendid in their years
forever reminding mere mortals
that they the kin of Beola
Are perpetual portals.
To the East
The Maam Turks likewise posture
and further West
Mordán Mór, manly and sure
Reaches towards the breast
of Leitir Móir
- that's Connemara.
The Aran's in the bay And the Burren
A buffer to the South
Holding its ancient sway
for the City of the Tribes.
I stand a human, weak
among these Godly Giants
But people meet and speak
Yet mountains never do
"Castar na daoine ar a chéile
ach ní chastar na cnoic"
