EVENTS

Calling all creative writers: come be a part of Vermilion’s work to cultivate a creative writing community at Catholic U! These workshops are open to all students at Catholic U who are looking for a place to share their creative writing with others and receive peer feedback. Bring any and all kinds of creative work, complete or incomplete!

The workshops will take place on February 28, March 14, and April 18, from 7:00-8:00PM in Pryz 321.

To allow everyone to give feedback, please share your piece with the email eng-vermilion@cua.edu before the workshop. And find us on social media @catholicu_vermilion for updates and announcements prior to the event!

Public Conversations about Literature

Join English faculty as they discuss works of literature that have challenged and inspired them as readers, scholars, and teachers. Each "Reading Together" session will feature faculty in conversation and open up to a wider conversation with attendees - our hope is that we can think about, question, discuss, and read these poems and stories together.

All sessions will take place in-person only and are free and open to the public.

Scavenger Hunt

For this event, participants were tasked with finding works of art around campus.

Congratulations to our grand prize winner, Eddie LaPointe, on being the first participant to find three or more items for the campus scavenger hunt!

We are shouting out Ellie Ortel and James Dolley for being the one and only pair, not to mention the only participants, to find all eight scavenger hunt items! Ellie and Dolley were very determined in their mission. Mission accomplished!

Fun fact: Ellie and James participated in the campus scavenger hunt during Vermilion’s two-hour tabling session (the end of which marked the deadline for the scavenger hunt). They found all of the items in less than that time!
