He never wears cologne,
But is always covered in that clean laundry scent,
And though I hate to even tidy,
I suddenly find myself washing every sheet, pillowcase, and dish towel in the house,
Stringing them up on the line,
Pressing my face to the cloth,
Pulling it all down,
Folding them
Into myself,
Tucking them away into drawers and closets,
And returning minutes later to take them out again.
