Theme for Q4
This quarter, students will learn about activites they do at home and in the community. Our main focus will be on memorizing many different action words, as well as to describe our preferences about doing certain activities. We will also discuss how we use our bodies to complete these actions.
Quarter 4 Objectives: Novice Mid
Interpretive: I can listen to and understand at least 5 activities I do with different parts of the body.
Interpersonal: I can express my preferences of activities.
Presentational: I can describe 5 activities I like to do and discuss at least 5 parts of the body.
Theme for Q3
This quarter, students will learn about human dwellings. They will review the rooms of the house and describe what is in them using the word "Hay" (there is/there are). Students will learn the names of basic objects found within different rooms.
Quarter 3 Objectives: Novice Mid
Interpretive: I can identify different dwellings and the rooms found within them.
Interpersonal: I can use the phrase “There is” or “There are” to describe a room in my home.
Presentational: I can describe items in a room in my home.
Theme for Q2
This quarter, students will learn about animal habitats and compare them across climates. They will identify different animals and biomes by name and be able to describe them.
Quarter 2 Objectives: Novice Mid
Interpretive: I can identify different biomes and animals by name. / I can categorize animals by their habitat(s).
Interpersonal: I can use the phrase “vive” and/or “es” to discuss animals and their habitats.
Presentational: I can describe a variety of animals using simple, memorized language.
Theme for Q1
This quarter, students will explore the four regions of Ecuador: the rainforest, mountains, coast and the Galapagos Islands. Students will learn how to describe and compare characters from the story El capibara con botas using es (is), tiene (has), vive (lives) and le gusta (likes).
Quarter 1 Objectives: Novice Mid
Interpretive: I can identify some phrases describing a character in a story.
Interpersonal: I can ask and answer questions about favorite animals.
Presentational: I can give some simple information about animals based on pictures or photos.
