Assessment Calendar:
Interpretive Assessment: One assignment every week, usually happens on Tuesdays. One assessment every other week on Thursdays. This assessment happens up to 4 times per quarter.
Presentational Assessment: One assignment every week, usually happens on Mondays. One assessment every other week on Thursdays. This assessment happens up to 5 times per quarter.
Interpersonal Assessment: One assignment every two weeks, usually happens on Tuesdays or Mondays. One assessment every other week on Wednesdays. This assessment happens up to 3 times per quarter, depending on the quarter length and the unit content.

Quarter 1, Objectives and Unit 1: My School Schedule
Learners Can:
Interpersonal:
I can communicate on very familiar topics using a variety of words and phrases that I have practiced and memorized.

Interpretive:
I can recognize some letters or characters.

Quarter 2, Objectives and Unit 2: Telling Time and My Daily Routines
Learners Can:
Presentational:
I can present information about myself and some other very familiar topics using a variety of words, phrases, and memorized expressions.
I can tell someone the time and speak about some routines according to the time and period of the day.
Interpretive:
I can recognize some letters or characters. I can understand some learned or memorized words and phrases when I read or hear.
I can recognize some phrases and sentences related to the time and some routines, and tell when they happened and when I read or hear.
Interpersonal:
I can communicate on very familiar topics using a variety of words and phrases that I have practiced and memorized.
I can ask and answer simple questions related to time and periods of the day, as well as some simple routines throughout the day.
Quarter 3, Objectives and Unit 3: Transportation Means
Learners Can:
Identify and recognize the Arabic names of common transportation means and use them in meaningful contexts.
List in writing and orally, and compare transportation means in the U.S. and Egypt.
Read, write about, and understand the different transportation means in the Arab World within a text.
Describe the various transportation rides by themselves and others based on visuals, and describe the colors and sizes of the vehicles.
Ask about the transportation means, the color, and the size of the everyday transportation means.
Use multiple pronouns and conjugate verbs “ride, drive, and travel” appropriately, along with placing the proper size adjective after the noun.
Recognize some Arabic transportation means that are different from those in their own cultures.
Identify and match Arabic words to transportation based on visuals.
Sort and classify transportation means based on the U.S. and Egypt.
Quarter 4, Objectives and Unit 1: Review of Multiple Topics (Unit 1)
Learners Can:
We are preparing our Arabic learners to take the STAMP Language Test (4Se) provided by CPS in mid-March next year to obtain the State of Illinois Path for the Seal of Biliteracy.
In preparation for this academic year's STAMP test for 5th grade, we are reviewing multiple topics in Unit 1, such as Weather, Pastimes, and Clothing.
