Researchers and educators have increasingly recognized the role that school climate plays in all aspects of school success.  School climate directly impacts such indicators as student achievement, dropout rates, numbers of office discipline referrals, and teacher retention.  A positive school climate is recognized as an important goal for school improvement and schools that strive to achieve this goal are welcoming and safe for their students, parents, and staff.
