The Cove School communicates with families over the course of the year through different platforms and on different topics. You should expect, at minimum, weekly communication from your student's classroom teachers through a newsletter. Beyond this, teachers may contact you to share student-specific praise or to request more home-school collaboration on behalf of the child.
Ongoing Communication
As denoated under the "Additional Communication" section, families should receive monthly communication from their student's teacher. Teachers may choose to contact you through e-mail, phone, or a private ParentSquare message. This monthly communication may be about a variety of topics:
Celebrating student successes and growth
Sharing concerns before they become larger issues
Communicating changes in behavior, health, or regulation
Providing updates after significant incidents
Answering parent questions in a timely manner
Collaborating to problem-solve student needs
Our goal is that no parent is surprised during an IEP meeting or conference. Regular communication builds trust and strengthens the home-school partnership.
Additionally, please keep us informed on any changes or updates with your student as far as you are comfortable sharing. The more your student's team is aware of any stressors in their life, the better we can support them during the school day. Thank you in advance for your collaboration and support!
