Curriculum Overview
Our class will study United States history using the 5 E's:

Explore
Explain
Elaborate
Evaluate
In addition to our social studies curriculum, we will read leveled books, informational handouts, and watch content specific videos. Depending on current events as they happen, we will incorporate current events into our instruction. Using DiscoveryEd, we will cover the following units:

The Constitution

Civil Rights
Students will participate in whole group as well as small group lessons. Additionally, students will demonstrate what they have learned by participating in projects, hands-on activities, and written products.
Assessments
Students will be assessed in a variety of ways including tests, quizzes, and projects. Study guides will be provided before each test. Students are expected to study at home each night leading up to a test. There will also be opportunities in class to review for a test. We will use Quizlet, Kahoot, Jeopardy, etc.
