The Step-by-Step Guide to Applying to College
Think and pray about the kind of college you want to go to.
Begin the college application process by utilizing the Common App, Coalition App, or each school's own application.
Ask your School Counselor to complete the school profile portion of your application and to upload or send your transcript.

When it's time to think about choosing a college, there are tools to help! Overgrad and BigFuture (College Board) are free tools that let you search for colleges based on different criteria, such as size, location, major, and other preferences.
Visiting colleges in person or virtually really helps give a sense of whether the environment of that college is right for you.
The Common App, Coalition App and stand-alone applications are all great ways to apply to college!
Application fees vary, but generally range from $35 to $75 per application (OR MORE). Choose wisely!
Rolling, Regular, Early Decision and Early Action decision dates -- decide when you want to hear back from your school(s) of choice.
CCA will guide students through the process of requesting recommendations and providing recommenders with the information they need to write the best possible letter. Students should think about two kinds of recommendations: 1) an academic recommendation (usually from a favorite teacher or subject) and 2) an overall recommendation (usually from your school counselor or other administrator).
