WJEC Engineering Unit 2

Producing Engineering Products

Unit 2 concerns students making an engineered item. They will be given an set of drawings which they need to;

• Interpret

• Plan for make

• Manufacture

• Evaluate

There are 12 hours given to assessing this unit, broken down into the following stages;

Interpret and Plan - 2hrs

Manufacture - 9 hrs

Evaluate - 1hr

Evidence is a minimum of 6 sides of A3, max of 7.

Learning before the assessment will comprise of small projects (steel tray, plumb-bob) designed to cover a wide range of processes from sheet metal to turning. Our assessed piece is a desk lamp.
