3D CAD Help

In Design and Technology we use OnShape when designing in 3D. Below are a few links to presentations and videos that will assist you in your independent learning on this vital new area of modern day additive manufacture.

OnShape is a cloud based 3D CAD service that can be used at school on some desktop computers and chrome books, as well as at home on better desk- and lap-tops, ipads and android devices. It's also free for students to use which is a great feature. Skills learnt on this package are readily transferable to other systems in a work-based environment.

Once you've created your design you can opt to 3D print it as it is, slice in in half to create a chocolate mould or even mould it into metal.

I've made a video that shows you how to create Marvin the Martian. If you like the look of this piece, follow the video to create a sibling for him :-)
