Design and Technology GCSE

We study AQA Design and Technology specification, with 2 pathways - Timber-based materials specialism and Papers and Boards Specialism

We aim to teach the theory by embedding it into mini practical- based projects. These projects include:

Timbers - Desk Tidy & Keyring phone stand

Metals - Alu-animals

Polymers - Toothbrush holder

Papers and Boards - Packaging

Skate Culture - designing theory, advanced timbers

Adaptive/Universal Design - Mini coursework project, smart materials, modern materials

These are the weekly plans for the Y10 course with Mrs Patterson & Mr Williamson's group, and then for Ms Webb's group. If you are working at home for any reason throughout the year, find the relevant week and then you will see what is happening in class so you will be able to keep up with the work if you can.
