The Conroe ISD Science Department's instructional model, known as CISD Investigates, aims to provide all students with high-quality, hands-on science education that fosters inquiry, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving. Through innovative instructional strategies such as 3D learning, the 5E model, cooperative learning, and data-driven interventions, we engage students in meaningful exploration of scientific concepts. Our commitment to inclusive practices, development of robust writing, and interactive tools like word walls ensures that every student builds a deep understanding of science and engineering. By offering diverse opportunities, including robotics programs, science and engineering fairs, and STEM competitions, we empower students to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed in an ever-evolving world.
Once a quarter prior to STAAR, usually toward the end of the 9-week grading period, CISD administers a district-wide grade-level assessment (District Quarterly Assessment, or DQA) across all content areas. These assessments are aimed at collecting data and tracking student growth across the district on targeted priority TEKS.
