We lovingly call our take-home folders the "Cub Folder." This folder will be the primary way paper copies of class, grade-level, and school information, along with graded work will be sent home. They may also serve additional purposes depending on each teacher's prefereces.
All third grade teacher's will send graded work and school flyers home on Wednedsays; however, you will want to maintain a habit of checking the folder daily for child specific and time-sensitive information.
Each folder will have two pockets, a left pocket and a right pocket. The left side will be labeled "Left At Home" and the right side will be labeled "Right Back to School."
Left At Home - This side will be for flyers, grades, or other communication that will stay at home. Please be sure to clean this side out regularly so that your child's folder does not get too full or difficult for them to manage.
Right Back to School - This side is for communication that needs to be reviewed, signed, and sent back to your child's teacher(s). This may include things like permission slips, grades that need to be monitored, or other documentation that require a parent or guardian signature. It may also include things like picture forms or fundraiser information that require information filled out and money to be sent in.
Some teachers may choose to include a zipper pocket or bag for students to keep money and notes traveling to and from school in so that they are secured safely in the folder and do not get misplaced.
Secured within the brads, some teachers may choose to include additional pages, such as:
Looseleaf notebook paper for parent/teacher notes
Dojo / Cub Cash Trackers
A daily backpack checklist and notes about snacktime
A pocket for unfinished or absent work
An app/website password sheet
Each of these are options and may vary from teacher to teacher, but we try to keep things as consistent as possible for all of our third grade students.
