At Gordon-Reed, attendance is very important to us. Every minute of every day is VITAL to student learning and success. Unless your student is sick, please support them by making sure they are at school on-time daily so they do not miss out on important instruction. We understand that life happens and are here to support the best we can.

If your child is going to be absent for any reason, we ask that you email your child's homeroom teacher along with the registrar to let them know. If your child is going to be absent for an extended period of time, please communicate with your child's homeroom teacher about potential learning and/or work they could be doing while out so they do not fall behind.

All doctor's notes or other acceptable documentation for excused absences can be sent to school in your child's Cub Folder, emailed to your child's homeroom teacher and registrar, or uploaded in the Parent Access Center.

Please make sure to communicate how your child will be getting home daily with his/her homeroom teacher. For the safety of our students, it is imperative that teacher's are up-to-date on any transportation changes whether they be temporary or permanent.

If your child has a transportation change of any kind, we ask that you email your child's homeroom teacher along with our transportation department BEFORE 2:00pm each day of the change. If you may also state in your email if the change will be permanent and on what day the change will start.

Car Rider Line Map

Thank you all for your diligence in following our established procedures. In the interest of safety, please ensure the following procedures are in place:

1. Remain in your vehicle while at the cone.

2. Place car seats on the driver’s side if they interfere with your child entering the vehicle.

3. Stay off your cell phone. Our car rider line is a school zone when the lights are flashing on McCaleb. Drivers may receive a citation for simply having a phone in their hand in an active school zone.

4. If your child is not at their cone when you arrive, inform the adult stationed closest to you and show them your yellow card.

Car rider signs with bar codes will be required to pick up your student in the car rider line. If you do not have a car rider sign, you will be asked to park and walk to the front office to show your photo ID to pick up your kiddo. Your kiddo will not be released until the car rider line is complete. You can come to the front office from 7:30-3:30 any day to get your car rider sign.
