Monday, 4/28 -- Finishing Strong!
In the second half of April, I've settled into a nice routine of doing 3 sets of 12 burpees each day. Some days I may do a few more, but that base of 36 daily burpees has kept me well ahead of my target. In fact, yesterday I officially hit 1000 burpees! I plan to keep it going for the final few days, and hopefully beyond...
Wednesday, 4/16 -- Halfway!
I am pleased to report 552 burpees in the first half of April, an average of 36.8 per day. So far, I am on pace to exceed the 30/day and 1000/month challenge. My body has gotten used to the burpee routine, though I am noticing more fatigue as the days get warmer and I spend more time outside doing yard work and other physical activity. Thanks to everyone's support, I am still able to motivate myself to do the burpees even when I am feeling tired.
Tuesday, 4/8 -- 300 Burpees!
Since my son's baseball practice was cancelled due to snow today, I did a few extra burpees after school. I've set up a tracking sheet, and when I updated it just now the total came to 299. Needless to say, another burpee was performed, with my son joining in, dedicated to the solar eclipse on this date last year. Below is a shot of totality from the slopes of Burke Mountain.
Friday, 4/4
Huge thanks to everyone who has sponsored a challenge so far! Just in the first day we raised over $2000 -- Wow! I also love hearing from folks who have sponsored some of our student challenges. Keep the good energy flowing!
For my challenge, I am pleased to report it is off to a good start. I have started a routine of 12 burpees first thing out of bed (these are the slowest ones but they do help me awaken) followed by 12 more before leaving the house. Then I do one more set later in the day in order to reach at least 30.
In the first three days, I have done 110 total, which comes to an average of 36.7 per day. I am feeling a bit sore but in a healthy way, like my whole body is getting a bit more use than usual. It will be interesting to see how my routine might shift over the weekend...
