CHS 51 - Barnstable 31
Led by coaches John Hynes and Nick LaTour, the CHS Eagles finished off their 2021-2022 campaign with an impressive 52-31 victory over Barnstable. The team put together an intense effort on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor, leading to many fast break opportunities and easy baskets. Nick Storms led the Eagles with 18 points, including 4 three-pointers, and was supported by 9 points from Matt Douglas and 8 from Brian Gutierrez. Throughout the season the team worked hard to build chemistry and individual skills, and with a young core returning for next season, the Eagles hope to build on their 3-4 record.

Dave Herman wins the CHS Madness
Foul Shot Contest
Thanks to an idea by Jill Galligan in honor of March Madness, the inaugural CHS Madness Foul Shot Contest began in March with 48 staff members and continued into April. Congratulations to Nick, John, Yomna, David G, Anne, Dave H, Marc Tracy, and Trish Sisti who made the Elite 8 and competed on Fri. April 22nd to determine the overall winner.
Assistant Principal, Dan Silvestro organized the competitive brackets and crafted an outstanding event that not only gave students a boost of school spirit and some great entertainment, but also helped them learn some of the staff's names as they choose winners of each bracket throughout the entire tournament. Student also acted as rebounders for the teachers.
Foul Shot Contest 2022.mp4It was an exciting event and there were some surprises along the way. Unfortunately, Trish Sisti was injured right before the contest and had to be replaced by her long lost sister "Mish" - who surprisingly bore an uncanny resemblance to Dan Silvestro. The CHS Eagle mascot, who oddly also looked like Silvestro even made an appearance but was no match for favorite David Herman who went on to be crowned the champion in a close shootout against Nick LaTour winning 18-15.
Overall, the students and staff had a great time and showed a lot of interest in the event. David Herman gained bragging rights for the year and student, Dereck B. choose the most correct winners of the brackets and won the Grand Prize of a trip out to lunch on Jim Steel's dime.
