March 17-18 (Day 1)

大家好！Hello everyone!

We started our day off early, arriving at the Columbus Airport as early as 3:30 am. After waiting in line for boarding passes and checking bags, pictures were taken and heartfelt goodbyes were exchanged with parents. Then we set off for our long journey to Taiwan. 

After a short plane ride to Chicago, we had a short layover until our flight to San Francisco. We got food, played games, and awaited our 5 hour flight. The plane had in flight screens providing a variety of games and movies. Some of the things we watched included the Hunger Games, Brooklyn 99, the Office. 

Finally, we arrived in San Francisco. After a long plane ride, we stretched, bought lunch and prepared for a 14 hour plane ride to Tawain. Three meals were provided during the flight, including sandwiches, eggs, chicken, and noodles. Along with meals, we enjoyed snack and drink service. In between this, we watched movies and attempted to get some sleep, anticipating jet lag the following day. 

Finally, after a long flight, we arrived in Taipei at a local time of 7pm. Once at the airport, everyone successfully went through customs and retrieved their luggage. Finally, we met our tour guides and took a bus to Eslite Hotel in Taipei, receiving our dinner, room assignments, and went to sleep after a long day of traveling.
