Lifelong Learning is lauching two exciting new opportunities for faculty in the form of "Faculty Plus" roles: Faculty Plus Convener & Faculty Plus Assessor
Starting in Fall 2026, community practice groups for lab faculty and instructional faculty will be formally supported by faculty who serve as Faculty Plus Conveners.
Faculty Plus Conveners receive a stipend of $1,500 per semester and are expected to dedicate 35 hours per semester to cultivating a community of practice. The World and Workplace Lab Conveners are supported by the National Director of Lab Faculty, and the Core Course Conveners are supported by the Assistant Provost and Director of Curriculum Development and the Director of Teaching and Learning.

Our Learning in Public (LIP) office allows students to turn their real-world experience and "lived expertise" into academic credit through LIP Portfolios. Faculty Plus Assessors evaluate student LIP portfolios to ensure they meet the demonstration of competencies and to provide the coaching needed to help students revise their work until they are successful.
Faculty Plus Assessors receive a stipend of $7,000 per year and are expected to allocate approximately 5.5 hours/week to assessment. Each assessor in this role will be responsible for three prefix areas in which they have subject matter expertise. Each assessor should be prepared to assess approximately 128 portfolios over twelve months. The annual workload expectation is estimated to be about 202 hours total broken down into 60-90 mins per portfolio + 10 hours for collaborative meetings.
