This is the primary way to contact the Provost's office when a student:
has missed two consecutive weeks of any course or is showing a concerning pattern of engagement issues
is not responding to lab faculty communications
is not coming to classes or responding to faculty attempts to get in contact
If your students are struggling or in crisis, please encourage them to complete the Community Care Assessment Form to be put in contact with a member of CU's Student Success team. This person will advocate for and with the student and work with them to gather student support resources.
We are encouraging students to be on-camera as much as possible when they are online so that we can fully see their engagement. When on Zoom/Google Meet, discuss guiding rules for having cameras on.
Cameras on help to foster a sense of community and connection– seeing each other is important. Therefore, ideally, the class commits to making sure that at least 50% (or some mutually agreed upon %) of all cameras are on in any given class. If there are times when it falls below that, faculty or even students can/should make “I notice” comments. “I notice that we’re under 50% of cameras, can we get back up above that level?”

Throughout the course as students show signs of doing great or indicating they need help or are struggling, be sure to reach out to their Lab Faculty. Keeping Lab faculty informed about the highs and lows of our students is crucial in supporting their success and their learning.
