The Galapagos Islands are a volcanic archipelago. They formed from a hotspot on the Nazca Plate, similar to the formation of the Hawaiian Islands did on the Pacific Plate. This is Isabela Island, which is younger than the other islands. You can deduce the net direction of movement of the Nazca Plate by this.

Leilani Lava Flows: 2018 Kilauea Eruption Drone Archive Released (Feb. 19, 2021)
In 2018, a new eruption of Kīlauea volcano changed the island of Hawai‘i forever. From May through August, large lava flows covered land southeast of the park destroying over 700 homes and devastating residential areas in the Puna District.
