Sustainability & Ecological Footprints
Medellín represents, to me, a good example of a sustainable city. Each urbanization or comuna within the city is walkable and contains all the necessary commercial and civil needs that people need. The mass transit system is very modern, safe, reliable and clean [telefericos, buses, taxis, train] and enable quick and affordable movement throughout the city. There are many green spaces that help improve air quality and give space for recreation and get people outdoors. Large natural spaces, like Parque Arvi, are protected from development and establish critical environmental areas.
