The Commonwealth Honors Academy is an exciting, challenging academic enrichment program for outstanding high school students who have completed their junior year.
What is CHA?
CHA is a three-week program for high-achieving junior students held every June on Murray State's campus.
The 2025 Academy will be held June 7 - June 28, 2025.
The Academy brings together 90 rising high school seniors from Kentucky and surrounding states such as Tennessee for three weeks in an interdisciplinary living-learning environment.
Upon completion of the academy, students will:
Receive three (3) hours of university studies credit.
Receive an in-state full-tuition scholarship with a 3.5 cumulative high school GPA and a minimum 25 ACT Composite score.
Students who do not meet this criteria will have the opportunity to receive the Academic Achievement scholarship for first-time Freshmen students.
In order to qualify for the academy, students must have:
Have earned approximately a 3.5 GPA (on a 4-point scale).
Have earned approximately a 25 Composite ACT (or the equivalent PSAT, SAT, ACT-Aspire, or standardized test score).
Be at least 16 years old, prior to the beginning of the Academy and be a rising high school senior at the time of the Academy.
CHA will host two live Zoom informational sessions for students and families. The first session will be on November 14th, 2023 from 5-6pm (central time). The second will be on January 23, 2024 from 5-6pm (central time). Both Zoom meetings will be recorded and recordings will be made available on our website.
Applications for the academy can be found at www.murraystate.edu/cha and completed through an easy to-fill-out GoogleForm.
The student application opens on November 1, 2024 with a deadline of March 1, 2025. Students and schools will be notified in mid-April.
