TN Concrete Association High School Essay Contest

The Tennessee Concrete Association (TCA) is once again sponsoring the annual High School Essay Contest for Tennessee and your students are invited to participate. All entries into Tennessee Concrete Association’s Essay Contest will be judged by a panel of industry personnel and TCA will award cash prizes to the first place ($250), second-place ($100) and third-place ($50) essays. The Marjorie Watson Mathematics Scholarship

State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship

This scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors who plan to attend college, technical, or vocational school, but who may not be able to meet the expenses of a higher education without such aid and often do not qualify for other scholarships. It does not require a high GPA, but rather focuses on students who are leaders and volunteers in their communities and demonstrate financial need. GPA should be between 2.5 and 3.2. The TN ACT State Council will recognize exemplary high school seniors across our state. Then, those selected at the state level will have the additional opportunity to be recognized at the national level as a semi-finalist or finalist. American Foreign Service Association Essay Contest

High school students in grades 9 through 12 are encouraged to place themselves in the shoes of a member of the Foreign Service, a diplomat promoting peace, assigned to one of four embassies. Essays written in a memo format should provide recommendations to the ambassador addressing the refugee/internally displaced persons crisis in their host country. Winner receives a $2500 prize, all expense paid trip to DC, a meeting with the Secretary of State and a full scholarship for a Semester at Sea upon enrollment to your university. Fort Campbell Spouses' Club Scholarships

Scholarships are given each year to graduating seniors and continuing education students. Scholarships are awarded to dependent children or spouses of active- duty, retired or deceased military personnel of any rank. Applicants must be enrolled or plan to enroll full-time in college (undergraduate) or vocational school in the fall of 2017. Scholarships are based on academic achievement, personal achievement, and community involvement-not financial need. Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee Scholarship

The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee is now accepting scholarship applications. Examples of awards are for childhood cancer survivors (Catie Summers Memorial), African American students with a 2.5 GPA or higher and history of community service (Dr. Joseph and Stephaine Walker) and for females planning to enter the ministry full-time (B.J.
