Horatio Alger National Scholarship

Awards of nine $10,000 scholarships for Tennessee. Must have a 2.0 GPA, participate in extracurricular and community service, demonstrate financial need (preferably less than $55,000 family income), demonstrate integrity and perseverance, and be a US citizen. Golden Door Scholars

Is a nonprofit focused on promoting economic mobility for high-performing undocumented students in states where they are not eligible for in-state college tuition, has opened its application for students starting college in the Fall of 2018. Interested students should review eligibility guidelines and complete the rolling application at www.goldendoorscholars.org

US Senate Youth Program

(An RHS Graduate was awarded this scholarship last year!) This program offers juniors or seniors the opportunity to participate in an annual Washington Week event in March, which includes a variety of events that promote a unique understanding of the structure of our national government. The Hearst Foundation also offers selected state finalists a $10,000 undergraduate scholarship. The student application and instructions for applying are available here.
