AES Engineer Scholarship
$500 scholarship awarded on the basis of character, as determined by the essays that are submitted. You are not required to be in engineering classes to be eligible.
Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question:
When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?

P.E.O. STAR Scholarship
The STAR scholarship is national scholarship for senior women. It is a highly competitive scholarship, and the candidate has to meet the following qualifications:
1. Exhibits excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and the potential for future success.
2. Will be in the final academic year (senior year) of her secondary education and is 20 years of age, or under, at the end of the calendar year.
3. Has a minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
4. Is a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States or Canada.
5. Plans to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution in the United States or Canada, either full-time or part-time in the fall of the academic year following her high school graduation.
6. Is recommended by, and receives the vote of P.E.O. Chapter BI in Clarksville.

Arts Recognition and Talent Search
Open to students in 10th-12th grade. Recognizes students in the areas of dance, film, music, photography, theater, visual arts, voice, and writing. Prizes range from $250 to $10,000. NOTE: There is a $35 application fee for this program but they have fee waivers.

NSHSS Diversity Scholarship
NSHSS will award $2,000 to five (5) high school sophomore, junior, or senior students who have demonstrated a commitment to expanding the diversity and inclusion initiatives in their school, community, or workplace.
Application Requirements:
Prompt response of 500-800 words to the following question: How have you raised awareness for or helped to expand the diversity and inclusion initiatives in your school, community, and/or workplace? Please be sure to include your leadership roles in furthering a more diverse and inclusive environment. Student should have pictures/videos/media showing your leadership in action (optional). Have a color headshot. Have an academic resume. Have a current Transcript (can be official or unofficial). Have an educator recommendation.

Voice of Democracy
Established in 1947, our Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. The Voice of Democracy is open to students in grades 9-12 by the Oct. 31 deadline who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States.
The national first place winner receives a $35,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$21,000, and the first place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins at least a scholarship of $1,000.
