South Carolina law requires schools to conduct safety and emergency drills periodically throughout the school year.
Fire Drills - An alarm will sound without warning.
Under the direct guidance and direction of the teacher or other staff member, students must exit the building quickly and quietly.
Unless entrances are blocked, students must follow the designated exit schedule.
Everyone must clear the building by at least 100 feet, and all fire lanes and driveways must remain clear.
All students must remain with their teacher of record during the drill for attendance to be taken.
No one may re-enter the building until an all clear is given by an administrator.
Failure to follow procedures can result in disciplinary action.
Other Drills - Students are to follow the directions of the administration and their teacher.
