Chromebook Testing Best Practices
Note: These instructions only apply to testing with Chromebooks, if your campus plans to test on Windows or Mac devices, please contact TIS a week in advance of testing to ensure the updated version of the testing software is deployed.
Days in Advance BEFORE THE DAY OF TESTING
(Tasks for Campus Testing Coordinators, Librarians, Tech Coaches, Test Administrators, Test Support Staff, and Students)
Dell Chromebook Models 3100 or 3110 should be checked out to students in Incident IQ at least 48 hours before the day of testing. - This allows time for our systems to sync the device to the correct organizational unit with policies applied for testing that is grade level and content specific to the student who was issued the device.
Students/teachers should check for updates on the Chromebook and apply them regularly at all times, but in preparation for testing days at least 24 hours before the day of testing.
Dell Chromebook models 3120 and 3189's are No longer supported, and cannot be use for testing.
Make sure all students know their username and password and can login to WIFI.
THE DAY OF THE TEST - Before Starting the Test

After getting situated in his or her testing room, students should restart the chromebook.
After it reboots, check for WIFI and ensure they are logged on with their district issued Username and Password
Remember Testing Apps run in the Kiosk Mode, students Must log onto the WIFI, but will not sign into the chromebook.
The Kiosk menu is on the login screen, access it by clicking on Apps.
THE DAY OF THE TEST - Getting Started

Launch the appropriate testing app from the Kiosk on the bottom left of the chromebook, by clicking on Apps, then click on your test type.
Allow the application to perform system checks and initialization.
When the testing app is ready wait for instructions from your test administrator.

Sign into the Chromebook and Check for Updates
Restart or Power Down completely and reboot the Chromebook
Check the WIFI
Try to access the test again from the Kiosk, if unsuccessful
Powerwash the Chromebook & Enterprise Enroll It (if it doesn't enroll automatically)
